Lloyds faced a shift from transaction-led banking to advice-led engagement, driven by changing customer expectations and a refreshed brand direction. Customers now look for guidance and education over routine cash services, while expecting a more inclusive and empowering experience.
The opportunity was to create a space that supports meaningful conversations and reflects a modern, digital-first approach. M Worldwide identified the need to rebalance the environment, redefine its purpose, and align it with Lloyds’ evolving brand experience design.
The existing space did little to support confidence or clarity. The challenge was to transform it into an environment that reduces anxiety, encourages interaction, and enables stronger, more human customer relationships.
M Worldwide delivered the transformation through a cohesive blend of experience strategy and experiential design, reimagining the Manchester branch as a conversation-led, digitally enabled environment.
Transactional services were repositioned, allowing the ground floor to focus on a central “genius bar” and flexible booths designed for both quick support and in-depth advisory conversations. This shift prioritises interaction over transaction, supporting a more human and engaging customer journey.
The space introduces intuitive zoning, inclusive design principles, and a clear, human-centred approach that reduces uncertainty and builds confidence. Every element is designed to guide customers seamlessly through the experience.
By aligning the physical environment with Lloyds’ digital-first ambition, M Worldwide created a future-ready example of brand experience design that supports education, aspiration, and meaningful value exchange while bringing the refreshed Lloyds brand to life.
